Material Return Policy

General Return Window

Standard stock items may be returned within 30 days of the original purchase date. To be eligible for a return, items must be: 

  1. Accompanied by the original sales receipt or invoice. 

  2. In “like new” condition: unopened, unused, and in original undamaged packaging. 

  3. Free of job-site debris (dust, mud or moisture damage)

Restocking Fees:

To cover the labour of inspection and inventory management, all returns of non-defective stock items may be subject to a restocking fee of 15%, at the discretion of Solutions Mechanical. 

Non-Returnable Items (Final Sale)

The following items are considered Final Sale and cannot be returned or exchanged unless they are confirmed to be defective:

  1. Customer or Special Orders; any item not regularly stocked in our Airdrie warehouse. 

  2. Cut-to-size goods: Any wire, chain, filters or other material that is cut to a specific dimension. 

  3. Installed Items: Any electrical or mechanical component that has been installed or energized. 

Refund Method

Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment. 

  1. Cash/Debit/Credit: Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment. Please note  that credit card processing fees are non-refundable 

  2. Charge Accounts: For customers with an active charge account, a credit will be applied to the account balance. No cash refunds will be issued for account purchases. 

Defective Merchandise (Alberta Sale of Goods Act

In accordance with the Alberta Sale of Goods Act, any product found to be defective or not “fit for purpose” will be replaced, repaired or fully refunded at no cost to the customer, provided the defect is reported within 48 hours of discovery. 


Limited Material Warranty Policy

Manufacturer’s Warranty

Solutions Mechanical acts as a distributor for various manufacturers. All products sold are covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty. 

We pass all manufacturer warranties directly to the purchaser. Solutions Mechanical INC does not provide any additional express warranties beyond those offered by the manufacturer. 


Retailer’s Limited Warranty - Quality and Accuracy

In addition to manufacturer coverage, Solutions Mechanical provides 30 day limited retail warranty from the date of purchase, ensuring that:

Accuracy: The goods delivered match the description and specifications on the sales order. 

Merchantability: In accordance with the Alberta Sale of Goods Act, goods are of merchantable quality and free from significant latent defects at the time of sale. 

Remedy: If a product is found to be non-confirming or defective within the 30 day window, Solutions Mechanical will, at its discretion, replace the item or issue a refund.  

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from: 

Improper Installation: Materials installed contrary to industry standards, local building codes, or manufacturer instructions. 

Environmental Exposure: Damage caused by extreme weather such as, extreme temperature fluctuations, extreme wind gusts, improper outdoor storage, frost heave.

Normal Wear & Tear: Fading or cosmetic surface scratches occurring after the product has left our facility. 

Secondary Costs: Solutions mechanical is not liable for any labour costs, “tear-out” expenses, loss of profit, or liquidated damages resulting from a defective product. Our liability is strictly limited to the replacement cost of the material purchased from Solutions Mechanical. 

Claim Process:

To initiate a warranty claim, the customer must: 

  1. Provide the original sales receipt or invoice.

  2. Submit a written description and photos of the defect within 7 days of discovery to warranty@solutionsmech.ca

  3. Allow a representative of Solutions Mechanical INC to inspect the material in its “as installed” or “as delivered” state before any remedial work is performed. Charges may apply for this inspection. 

Professional Use Disclaimer

As a trade supplier, it is understood that materials are sold for professional installation. The purchaser acknowledges that they have the skill and knowledge to determine if the material is fit for their specific project. Solutions Mechanical INC is not responsible for errors in project design or material selection by the customer.
